Dont try to use a sheet music stand because it wont be as sturdy. I play guitar into that channel and because the GR5 sits on the track as an effect distorted guitar noises come out.

LAPTOP STAND - Definitely get one - cost about 30. Running Guitar rig 5 and using Rig Kontrol 2 footpedal (yeah, the really old silver colored Rig Kontrol.).

Now I've just realized that it seems that most of the presets in Guitar Rig are only demos that are accessible only for a short period of time unless you have the "Pro" version.don't know how hard/expensive that is to get, but that's my next issue to tackle. GUITAR RIG 5 PLAYER is the free, modular and expandable effects processor from Native Instruments, combining creative effects routing possibilities with. DELL LAPTOP - its about 5 years old, has 4 gig of Ram and thats plenty of horsepower. In terms of its amp tones in general, Guitar Rig 5 Pro sounds very good, but it does fall slightly short when it comes to absolute authenticity, responsiveness and real-deal feel you’d get from a great valve amp/cab, which some other products pull off better.

I had been dealing with my guitar only being on the right channel by panning the track slightly left of center in Mixcraft, but that's just an output thing I guess and doesn't affect how it's going into the Guitar Rig.as far as Guitar Rig is concerned, there's only signal on the right channel for my audio clip. GUITAR RIG 5 PRO is the ultimate software solution for perfect custom tone with more amps, more effects and more creative potential than ever before, all in a powerful and intuitive virtual effects rack. You can make some REALLY cool effects with it, I use it on vocals a lot, but I wouldnt do any serious vocal or drum processing with it - it just doesnt compare. Second, there is an area near the top of the interface where you select whether left and right inputs are on (buttons with "L" and "R" on them).because my interface records my guitar as only the right channel (there's probably a way to control this, but I don't know how), the right channel input button needed to be turned on (for some reason it was off by default). When used as a plug-in, Guitar Rig is inserted into the signal path as an effect, not as a software instrument, and obviously you need to adjust your audio. First of all, apparently it's not enough to select the presets at the top dropdown menu.they need to be selected by double clicking a preset name in the bottom left part of the interface like in the second picture that Mark posted.
